Rockin' Green Cloth Diaper & Laundry Detergent (Hard Rock, Bare Naked Babies) reviews from buyers.
Lasts forever, works wonderfully!
I bought Rockin' Green before my daughter was born because I planned to cloth diaper and had heard a lot about it. I wasn't disappointed. I also used it to wash all her baby clothes before she was born because I was wary of the chemicals in "traditional" detergents. We now use it for all our laundry and find it to work wonderfully with everything from dirt stains to dirty diapers. In fact, I often put a scoop of it in a bowl of hot water to use as a soak for very difficult stains with some pretty impressive results. For instance, my mother found one of my stuffed animals from when I was a baby (25 years ago), but it had many stains on it. I soaked it in Rockin' Green for several hours, then washed it in a regular wash (with Rockin' Green) and the stains ALL came out!
I have only tried one other "cloth diaper" detergent because it was "cheaper" and it was a letdown after using Rockin' Green. It really wasn't much cheaper either because I only had to use a small amount...
It saved my stash!
I'm not going to lie, I purchased Rockin Green out of desperation. I, like many other CD mommas in vehement denial, thought that I could make regular cheap detergent work for my CD routine. And it did...for a while. That is, until I got a "smell", nay, a "stench". This wasn't the normal hint of ammonia that comes from a not so clean diaper, that simply needs to be rewashed. This was a full fledged barn yard-dy wretchedness, that brought about unbridled fear, to changing the light of my life/reason for living/beautiful spawn...and I love changing my baby (I'm a weirdo, I know). It got so bad, that I was hesitant to hand my mini me off to others, fearing what they would think, and say, behind our smelly backs. When referring to her, would they whisper, "Oh, you mean the super cute one who smells like hot garbage?". Yup, that's her. She would forevermore, be branded "the smelly kid", and all before her 1st birthday. Her elementary school persona predestined, all because her mom...
I was skeptical, but this saved our diapers!
We've been cloth-diapering for just over 14 months, we use a mixture of Fuzzi Bunz and Bum Genius pocket diapers and some BG all-in-ones (the BEST if you ask me).
I saw the RnG in a specialty shop before my son was born and thought it seemed like an awfully small package and decided to pass it up. Until recently, we've been washing our diapers in regular detergent. I'm not loyal to any one brand, I just prefer unscented, as natural as possible, and then whatever is on sale. This seemed to work out okay until my baby was about 6 months old, then I noticed his diapers had started to reek even when they were just wet.
I had had to stop nursing and start formula, which I think stinks quite a bit just on its own, so I thought that could be the issue. We were having terrible problems with leakage, too, he could barely make it half an hour without pee soaking through to his pants, but again I assumed maybe his urine output increased because he was getting more at each...
Rockin' Green Cloth Diaper & Laundry Detergent (Hard Rock, Bare Naked Babies) is one of the best cloth diapers from Rockin' Green.
