bumGenius Elemental One-Size Cloth Diaper - Mirror Reviews

bumGenius Elemental One-Size Cloth Diaper - Mirror reviews from buyers.

Holds Urine Smell
While I like our BumGenius cotton all-in-one it has one significant drawback - it holds onto the smell of urine more than any of our other diapers. We use kissaluvs snap-on diapers with thirsty's wraps about 80% of the time and all-in-ones when we need a diaper change while out of the house. We have BumGenius, Kushies, Growvia and Seedling all-in-ones to choose from and while I like the fit and function of the BumGenius I find myself reaching for it the least because it is a big pain in the butt to wash. Let me elaborate on the problem:

All of the our other all-in-ones employ a flap design, whereby the diaper, shell and soaker pads are all sewn together but the soaker pad is able to flap free in the washer and dryer (or on the clothes line). This allows the water and soap to move through the fabric freely, easily removing the pee and poop residue, and allows for a reasonably fast drying time. The BumGenius soaker pads are sewn into the diaper at both ends, which I think...

No need to look further
We have just started cloth diapering (with our third - why did we wait so long?!) We are expecting a baby in a few months and got some of these for our 16 month old that we will also use with the new baby. We started off with just a couple, thinking we might want to try out different types/brands of diapers, but these are so perfect - we just bought a couple dozen without even trying any others.

EASY - church nursery, babysitters, etc. have no issue with these, because they are no different than changing a disposable diaper. Other than having to do an extra load of laundry at night, there is no more work involved in cloth diapering with these than diapering with disposables.

NO LEAKS - our son is now at the age that he had started leaking out of Pampers Cruisers at night, like our other kids did at this age (they take a cup of water to bed with them). I just stuck a hemp liner in these cloth diapers for overnight and I have not had a single leak (we've been using...

First time cloth diaper user
This is our fourth child and I finally decided to give cloth a try!! I bought 18 of the organic bumGenius diapers. I don't regret my purchase and I love these cloth diapers. The downsides - the organic stains easier so plan on lots of sunning! The sun gets the stains out, and I like air drying them better anyway. They also take forever to dry. I read reviews and almost didn't purchase because they take a long time to dry, but I found that my bamboo inserts take a long time to dry also. I also question whether or not you could really use these on a newborn because it looks like it would bunch up too much.
Pros:
1. Trim fitting and soft
2. Organic Cotton
3. Easy to use
4. One size with adjustable snaps so you don't need to size up or down
Cons:
1. Stain easier
2. Drying time
3. Price is more expensive
4. Might not work for newborns
Overall I am satisfied with my purchase. After reading soooo many reviews on diapers there are...
