bumGenius Freetime All-In-One One-Size Hook & Loop Closure Cloth Diaper - Genius Series - Albert Reviews

bumGenius Freetime All-In-One One-Size Hook & Loop Closure Cloth Diaper - Genius Series - Albert reviews from buyers.

I've tried almost all of the brands of cloth diapers that exist, over 7 years, and Bumgenius is truly one of the best.
We've had six babies in the span of 5 years, and I have truly tried nearly every brand (both major and minor) of cloth diapers on the market. I have even made my own. I have tried American, Australian, and British brands, as well as a few from other countries. I have tried all in ones, snap ins, pop ins, pocket, stuffed, folded, the old fashioned cotton ones with pins and rubber pants, and ones that need covers. I can honestly say that Bumgenius is one of the best brands out there. I have tried almost all of the different types of Bumgenius, and these are my favourites. Although I prefer the original AIOs that they came out with, without the pocket opening at the back. While I understand the benefit of having the pocket opening, I liked the ones that were truly all in ones, as they worked the closest to disposables, and didn't get liquid poop in and under the little flap at the back that there is now. The whole point of having an AIO is so that you don't have to stuff them. With the...

Don't work as well as I'd hoped
I registered for the bumGenius 4.0 One size pocket diapers with the snaps and was initially bummed that the one size AIO diapers came out after all my showers were through. We needed a few more diapers so we supplemented with a 6 pack of the bumGenius freetime diapers. Love the colors that they offer and the snaps keep these cloth diapers on well. I was also expecting the freetime diapers to be one ready to go diaper with the insert sewn inside rather then being able to be removed. However, the OS AIO has the inserts as two large flaps sewn on either end of the diaper that you fold or stack inside the main diaper area. I find that they make my babies bum even more bulky then the 4.0 diapers and if they aren't stacked just right, they leak like crazy. Also, when he poops, instead of just having the inside diaper area to rinse, we have those two large flaps as well. It works out to being five surfaces that need to get sprayed making rinsing these things a major pain in the neck. And...

Love this AIO
With my first child born in 2005, I was all about the "new pockets" on the market. I loved the ease of use, etc. With my second child born in 2012, I have so much less love for pockets. For some reason prefolds/fitteds and covers have been easiest, and most bullet proof. So I decided to try the Freetime AIO for this baby (thinking it to be somewhere in between). I am ever so glad I did. They really are the happy medium for a prefold baby's caregivers looking for convenience.

*I noticed one reviewer mentioned that if you don't stack the inserts just right, that it leaks. This is remedied by making sure all the insides are tucked into the dipe after putting it on baby. A quick visual inspection around the leg holes and a quick tuck is all that is needed to avoid a leak.
*I also noticed some reviewers talking about how difficult it is to rinse the inserts. I rarely rinsed before my baby started on baby food. I breastfed all feedings except on Sundays mornings at...
