Rockin Green Cloth Diaper and Laundry Detergent (Funk Rock Ammonia Bouncer), 16oz reviews from buyers.
results can't justify the cost per soak
I got 3 soaks out of this tiny bag. After the first use my diapers didn't stink for two weeks (I usually get at least 4 weeks stink free using bleach). After the second FR soak I had to do an additional overnight soak in Rockin green to 100% get rid of smells. For such a high price item I shouldn't have to do an overnight soak in Rockin green before AND after the funk rock. Perhaps most important, is that my diapers stunk worse than ever after the second soak once the usual microfiber smell returned again. I have been using rockin green for over a year so the introduction of funk rock into the routine should have been seamless, not making my diapers stink worse!
So yes, it works at reducing stink and it is natural as opposed to bleach. Given the amount of soak time required to get the best results AND the high cost of over $4 per soak...not worth it!! I voiced my frustrations directly to Rockin Green and they were unapologetic about the bag size. I bought funk rock...
Great at getting rid of ammonia and stink on diapers.
Yes, the bag is small, and yes, the price seems a bit expensive for the amount of product you recieve, but it does exactly what it says it will do...get rid of funk! I used the same pouch for 2 months, and just ran out, and still have no stinkies...keep reading to find out how.
I first purchased this when we bought a new front loader bc our top loader went kaput, and the stinkies started creeping in on our diapers. Before rockin green, i used charlies soap exclusively on all of our laundry, so i fugured it was just the new machine not using enough water. I ran about 10 cycles to strip my diapers, 3 full washes a couple soaks and lots of extra rinses, hoping that it would take care of things, but my babies (twins) still smelled like poop every time their diapers got even the slightest bit wet. I went online and searched and searched, and finally decided on changing up our detergent, and purchased this to help get through all that stink. When i got it home, heres what i...
A lot of money for a small amount of product.
I've only used the Funk Rock on 3 loads of diaper laundry (thanks to the tiny size of the bag), but I've found that while it works just fine to reduce the ammonia smell, it doesn't completely eradicate it and at such a high price, that's what I'd expect. Why not just incorporate this ingredient into the regular Rockin' Green detergents or sell it in larger quantities for a more reasonable price. It seems like a lot to ask when it's a product obviously meant to make up for the detergent's shortcomings. Just my opinion, but YMMV.
Rockin Green Cloth Diaper and Laundry Detergent (Funk Rock Ammonia Bouncer), 16oz is one of the best cloth diapers from Rockin' Green.
